01 The story, in three paragraphs

Why everyone keeps coming back.

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Boston’s bustling Causeway Street, BATI BY SHANTI is a culinary gem offering a modern yet deeply authentic take on Indian cuisine. This cozy yet dynamic eatery brings traditional Indian flavors to life with a menu that effortlessly balances street food charm and hearty comfort.

The highlight at BATI BY SHANTI has to be their Chicken Naanwich and Lamb Naanwich, priced reasonably at $13.50 and $14.50 respectively. These unique sandwiches are comforting and packed with richly spiced, tender meat wrapped in freshly baked naan bread, delivering layers of flavor with every bite. For those looking to indulge in classic Indian snacks, the Vegetable Samosa offers a crisp, golden exterior bursting with a savory mix of seasoned potatoes and peas. And don’t miss dessert—sweet, syrup-soaked Gulab Jamun and the creamy, aromatic Kheer provide perfect, soothing finales to your meal.

Customers often praise the freshness and generous portions. The Chickpea Bati (Chole), a signature dish, is consistently described as home-cooked, light on oil, and full of vibrant spices that sing with authenticity. The attentive and friendly staff enhance the dining experience, making visitors feel welcomed and well-cared-for.

While the casual setting is ideal for a quick, satisfying meal whether you’re grabbing a bite on the go or settling in, it’s worth noting that a few patrons have encountered minor hiccups like cold food or payment issues. However, the overwhelming sentiment leans toward BATI BY SHANTI being a delightful spot for bold, fresh Indian flavors delivered with care.

Whether you’re a longtime lover of South Asian cuisine or curious to explore something new, BATI BY SHANTI offers a taste journey that is vibrant, soulful, and refreshingly genuine. For Boston locals and travelers alike, it’s a worthy stop that celebrates the richness of Indian cooking in a modern urban setting.

Chole (chickpea bati) was so tasty and felt home cooked with little oil! Yum. Prepared very quickly (less than 2min wait). A little pricey but that is how all the food in hub hall is

I got the chickpea bati and it was delicious! I eat a lot of South Asian food and I found this particularly fresh and tasty. It was also hot and plentiful!

Crispy and flaky samosas that are perfect to get while waiting for the game or the train! Fried to order! You get 2 big samosas for $6.50 with a side of sweet chutney. In this area, that’s a great deal! I wish the samosa filling was a lil bit spicier but do understand why they chose to make them mild so that everyone is able to enjoy them. Maybe they can offer a spicy chutney option!

The food was decent for a quick meal. Reasonably priced. Service was quick, not sure what the negative reviews are all about. Would come back for more takeouts.
